I need some paintspiration!

I found this gorgeous piece of furniture yesterday on Craigslist and it looked so nice I jumped at the chance to get it. I purchased it from a very sweet young lady who I swear must have been a supermodel at some point in her life. She showed me the secretary and I had my fiancĂ© help me get it in the truck. She helped us get it into 2 pieces and off we went. Visions of every possibility jumped through my head as we were driving home. I was thinking of all of the amazing colors that I could paint this lovely furniture and then I got stuck. I am keeping this little beauty and with that, I can’t decide what to do.

Here is the top portion and you can see some small repairs need to be done on the wood detail in front of the glass. I may end up taking that off, but I’m not sure just yet. Then there is the beautiful bottom portion that also opens up for a nice desk or storage.

Wow, what a great CL find! I have something similar sitting in my garage right now, but since it has been too hot to paint, I haven't put much thought into what I am going to do with it. I may keep it or I may sell. I am not looking forward to painting the inside of the desk part...looks a little daunting!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Wow Shannon....now that I see what awesome pieces YOU have I will tell you that I don't take your compliment lightly! YOU are amazing! Love this CL find. I have a friend, you may have seen her blog, Julia from 551 East Furniture Design that had a bottom part just like yours. If you haven't seen it you should check it out. I think it's www.551eastfurnituredesign.blogspot.com If that's not right, I have her button on my blog...you can check it out there....and I'm your lastest follower! So nice to meet you today! :)

I just saw a piece similar to yours last week - sorry,I can't remember where - chalk painted antique white outside with a soft turquoise inside. It was a sweet surprise!

Beautiful! The Graphic Fairy at http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ had a similar peice on her blog, from someone who used one of her graphics on the inside of the desk, I think it was a French Postal, and turned out Fantastic.

OMG that is amazing!!! Congratulations on such a great find! I would have jumped at it too! My vote's for a nice bold colour with maybe some wallpaper inside the glass section and the desk bit? But it's going to be gorgeous whatever you do.
