Coffee Table reveal! $125 60"L X 23"D X 16" T

Here is the finished coffee table! We decided to stain the top in the deep cherry instead of painting it. What do you think?
The coffee table actually looks great with the end table I have for sale.

Barbie shadow boxes.

This past week I posted an idea I came across to display vintage Barbie clothes. I happened to be out and found some very cute boxes on clearance for $3.99. I scooped them up and here is my display of my vintage Barbie clothes. These are all from the 1970's and they just make me smile. I wish I could show you some of the clothes that made my barbie look like a hooker, but oh well, these were the ones in the best shape. :)

New mirrors make a new bathroom.

Since I purchased a new house last August, one of the comments I get when people see it is how they love my hall bathroom. I mean it's kind of cool with the glass sinks and all, but still needed a bit of a lift. I was out shopping one day and found 2 nice mirrors on clearance and thought they might fit in place of the old mirrors in the bathroom. I nabbed them up, brought them home and presto! Looks like a new bathroom.

Spring is here!

Since it is officially spring, I decided it may be time for some new decorating ideas. I am really liking the thought of bright, bold colors this year for spring and some easy ideas that can transform any room.
This idea has to be one of my favorites. using carved, ceiling rosettes to make an impressive wall display.

Another cute idea is to use old shutters to hang photos, art, letters or postcards. If the shutters do not open and close to hold the items, using double sided tape would work to hold the item in place.

I am not sure about you, but fortunately I still have all of my old Barbie clothes from the 70's. Some of the clothes I have really make me laugh. My Barbie dressed more like a street walker rather than the fashionable lady she was supposed to be. I love the idea of taking old Barbie clothes and putting them in shadow boxes to make a nice wall display. This would be great for a kids room, but I think I am going to display mine in my office. What a great way to bring a smile to your face at the start of a day!
Happy spring everyone!
